1. Overview
BitSaver is a Windows desktop application for organizing and managing files, photos, videos, audio, archives, connected storage and cloud-synchronized folders. This policy explains how BitSaver handles information in the desktop application and distinguishes that behavior from the BitSaver website and external services.
2. Local file processing
BitSaver processes supported file and folder information locally on the user's Windows device. The application may read file paths, names, sizes, timestamps, media metadata, thumbnails, tags, favorites and other technical information needed to provide its features.
- BitSaver does not upload personal file content to an external BitSaver server.
- BitSaver does not sell personal files or their contents.
- BitSaver does not use personal files to train artificial intelligence models.
- BitSaver does not analyze personal files to create advertising profiles.
- Files remain under user control and stay at their existing storage locations unless the user initiates a file operation.
3. Locally stored application data
To provide settings, search, organization, recovery and performance features, BitSaver may store application data locally on the Windows device. This can include preferences, indexes, cached metadata, thumbnails, playlists, notes, tag assignments, favorites, logs and recovery records.
This locally stored application data is used to operate BitSaver and is not intentionally transmitted to a BitSaver analytics or advertising service.
4. File and folder access
BitSaver accesses locations selected by the user or locations made available through configured libraries, Collections, connected drives and cloud synchronization folders. Access is used for browsing, searching, organizing, previewing and performing user-requested file operations.
Actions such as rename, move, copy, archive extraction, tagging and deletion are initiated by the user. Supported deletion workflows may use the BitSaver Recycle Bin, the Windows Recycle Bin or another clearly presented deletion method, depending on the operation and storage location.
5. Internet and external services
Core local file-management functions are designed to work without uploading personal files to BitSaver. Some optional actions can open external websites or services, including the Microsoft Store, support pages or links selected by the user.
Cloud-synchronized folders remain subject to the privacy practices of the user's chosen cloud provider. BitSaver does not control how Microsoft, a cloud provider, a website host or another external service processes data when the user accesses those services.
6. Analytics, tracking and advertising
The BitSaver desktop application does not intentionally include a BitSaver service that analyzes personal file content for analytics, tracking, advertising or profiling.
The public BitSaver website may generate ordinary technical server logs through its hosting environment, such as IP address, request time, requested page and browser information. If analytics, advertising, cookies or additional third-party services are added to the website later, this policy must be updated before or when those services are introduced.
7. Diagnostics and support
BitSaver can create local diagnostic logs to help identify errors and improve stability. These logs can contain technical information such as file paths, application events, errors and operating details. Logs remain local unless the user chooses to send them for support.
Before sharing a diagnostic log, users should review it because file paths and other technical details may contain personal information.
8. Data retention and deletion
Local BitSaver application data remains on the device until it is removed through BitSaver, deleted manually, cleared during maintenance or removed when the application is uninstalled, depending on the data type and Windows behavior.
Support emails and voluntarily submitted diagnostic information may be retained only as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, maintain support history or meet legal obligations.
9. User choices and rights
Users control which files and locations are managed through BitSaver and can stop using the application at any time. Requests concerning personal information that was voluntarily provided through email or another direct contact channel can be sent to the address below.
Where applicable, individuals may have rights relating to access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and data portability, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data-protection authority.
10. Children
BitSaver is a general-purpose file-management application and is not designed to collect personal information from children. The application does not intentionally request age or profile information.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when BitSaver features, website services, legal requirements or data-processing practices change. The current revision date is displayed at the top of this page.
